I don't have the libs installed either actually.

The relevant section of the configure output seem to be:

checking for _Z28zita_resampler_major_versionv in -lzita-resampler... no
checking for _Z28zita_alsa_pcmi_major_versionv in -lzita-alsa-pcmi... no
    ....
 | Build with ZITA ALSA bridge support................... : false

But then during make:
