The usual suspects:
1. Does your application connect to the output ports? Please test
with mplayer -ao jack /some/file.mp3, it's known to do the right
thing out of the box, while audacity is known to be broken for
most of the year.
2. Is hw:2,0 really the correct interface? I suggest to use the
card name from /proc/asound/cards instead:
adi@foh:~$ cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH
HDA Intel PCH at 0xf7420000 irq 55
1 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
HDA NVidia at 0xf7080000 irq 17
2 [HDSPMxf1cd85 ]: HDSPM - RME RayDAT_f1cd85
RME RayDAT S/N 0xf1cd85 at 0xf7300000, irq 18
$ jackd -d alsa -d hw:PCH
3. Maybe the clock setting is wrong and jackd doesn't make any
progress. Use $jackd -d alsa -d hw:FOO -P" to limit your jackd
to playback only.
