-n1 makes no sense. jackd man page states: The default is 2, the minimum
allowable.

Check if the default value of realtime parameter is "true". If not, set
realtime explicitly. jack running in non-realtime mode may explain
xruns.
Also check the jackdbus log file. Upon JACK server start, jackdbus will
log whether JACK server is being started in realtime or non-realtime
mode. If realtime mode is enabled you should see line like "JACK server
starting in realtime mode with priority 10". If non-realtime mode is
set, you should see "JACK server starting in non-realtime mode"
instead.

Your driver configuration in jackdbus differs from the one you use in
jackd.
* -P jackd parameter corresponds to "playback" jackdbus driver
parameter.
* --duplex jackd parameter corresponds to "duplex" jackdbus driver
parameter.
* -o jackd parameter corresponds to "outchannels" jackdbus driver
parameter
* -i jackd parameter corresponds to "inchannels" jackdbus driver
parameter
AFAIK changes in playback/capture/duplex parameter values can cause
xruns.

The jack2 ebuild from proaudio overlay should be ok. ladi-overlay
provides some additional tweaks that are useful in ladish
setups. ladi-overlay 2.9999 ebuild is based on latest (1.9.7 ATM)
release of jack2 though. Its not fixed because ladi branch of jack2
sometimes gets fixes/backports that are important for ladish setups.

Sounds like jack <-> alsa negotiation is not working properly.

So latest svn trunk. Latest at the time of emerge.
